Magpie, London

Magpie, London

Magpie - each dish a treasure.

The complexity and craftsmanship behind each dish created by Chef Adolfo de Cecco is brilliant. Fermentation, dehydration, Espuma; the list goes on. The menu is carefully curated to create a symphony of sensory flavours which balance perfectly.

Thirteen well designed courses which we just wanted to order again and again.

The Black Swan by Tommy Banks, Oldstead, Yorkshire.

The Black Swan by Tommy Banks, Oldstead, Yorkshire.

We were met with a slightly cold reception when we bumped into Tommy Banks in the car park before dinner but this did not put me off, perhaps he wanted to maintain the rockstar Chef persona that he probably deserves…The Black Swan has recently been rated the best restaurant in the world by TripAdvisor so I was excited to see what all the rage was about.

Bruut by Bruno Timperman - Bruges, Belgium

Bruut by Bruno Timperman - Bruges, Belgium

Bruut is well worth the 4 hours door to door from London on the Eurostar to Bruges. This is a charming 20 cover restaurant in the heart of the Old Town. The food is made using seasonal, locally sourced ingredients and the methods are technical and innovative with an asian fusion influence.

Smoke & Salt, Brixton POP London.

Smoke & Salt, Brixton POP London.

This place has popped up in a shipping container in Brixton, set up by two guys who started out on the pop-up circuit.

Fäviken by Magnus Nilsson, North Sweden.

Fäviken by Magnus Nilsson, North Sweden.

This is by far one of the most exciting restaurants I have ever experienced. Not only was the food and restaurant sensational and captivating, the journey from London to the depths of the Tundra was exhilarating.

NYETIMBER - English Sparkling Wine

NYETIMBER - English Sparkling Wine

The Nyetimber 1968 Routemaster bus pulled up inside Old Spitalfields Market. We were lucky enough to be invited for a Masterclass tasting.

BOB BOB RICARD, London

Bob Bob Ricard is a timeless restaurant perched on a corner in Soho. You wouldn't guess it from the somber exterior that inside lays an opulent, shiny, elegant, Art Deco and Russian inspired restaurant and bar.

BLUE STEEL - IS IT WORTH IT?

BLUE STEEL - IS IT WORTH IT?

Absolutely! This knife is a one for life and one of my favourites. It's handmade in Seiki, Japan from 33 layers of blue steel with the Damascus layering and handcrafted in the same way a samurai sword.

CAMPANIA at S. Jones

Southern Italian cooking with exceptionally seasonal and fresh ingredients!

We stumbled upon this place to shelter from the rain after Columbia Rd Flower Market.

The atmosphere is rustic farmhouse meets Scandi chic.

AMASS Copenhagen

AMASS Copenhagen

Entirely eco-friendly restaurant set on an ex-industrial estate headed up by Chef Rene Redzeppi of Noma. Hydroponic systems water all the vegetables that are grown on site. Almost everything in the restaurant is reused and repurposed, there is very little waste.

Mugaritz San Sebastián

Mugaritz San Sebastián

A sensory experience from the warmed cutlery to the sculptural design of the dining room. I would say the food was very impressive but you really need to judge this restaurant on the whole holistic experience rather than just the food, a delight for all the senses.

Salon, Brixton London

Salon, Brixton London

Salon Brixton has a well designed menu and seems to produce interesting dishes from such a tiny kitchen. There were some tasty courses but I would say they were overpriced for such simple ingredients

Bogle, Californian Chardonnay

Bogle, Californian Chardonnay

I tried this Bogle, Californian Chardonnay at the Clove Club in London. French oak gives it a rich buttery, vanilla taste and a smooth mouthfeel. Highly recommended! Retailing at £12.50 a bottle, it is such great value and my worst kept secret!
