BOB BOB RICARD, London
Bob Bob Ricard is a timeless restaurant perched on a corner in Soho. You wouldn't guess it from the somber exterior that inside lays an opulent, shiny, elegant, Art Deco and Russian inspired restaurant and bar. The polished brass, pink uniformed staff and pale blue buttery leather booths make for a cosy setting to have drinks and dinner.
They serve a luxury English and Russian menu to it's eclectic clientele, all shrouded with the right amount of attention to detail without being over the top. Each booth is equipped with a button which says "PRESS FOR CHAMPAGNE" neatly concealed in the polished marble walls. This makes the whole experience decadent yet subtle.
Their wine list is impressiveand it's the only restaurant in the UK endorsed by Chateau d'Yquem to serve their sweet nectar at £29.50 a glass. Their house Champagne, Ayala Brut Majeur NV is biscuity, buttery and has a fine persistent mousse. Served in a crystal flute at £13.95 a glass, it's the perfect accompaniment to treat oneself to at the bar whilst people watching or gazing into the eyes of a lover.
